Dr. T.P. Manomohandas
We
express our deep felt condolences on the sudden and untimely demise
of Dr. TP Manomohandas, Assoc. Professor, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ambalavayal.
He passed away on May16, 2002 due to cardiac arrest while attending
a state level research extension interface seminar at KILA, Thrissur.
Dr.Manomohandas entered KAU service as Asst. Professor at the Regional
Agrl. Research Station, Ambalavayal and was continuing in the RARS and
KVK intermittently since then. From the very beginning of his career,
he devoted his entire service for the welfare of the farming community
of Wayanad. He was instrumental in popularizing oyster mushroom cultivation
in Wayanad by producing and distributing the spawn and imparting training.
His active participation in managing the foot rot disease of black pepper
was commendable. He was responsible for the production of Trichoderma
culture on a large scale, which was isolated from the soils of Wayanad
to control the foot rot disease of black pepper in an effective manner.
He is survived by his wife and two sons.
