Applications are invited for contract appointment to the following positions of Technical Directors/Domain Experts and Research Associates for the Virtual University for Agricultural Trade Project as per the terms and conditions given below.

· Responsible for co-ordinating data collection, data integration, validation analysis and interpretation in the respective area · Content generation in the related areas · Capacity to answer queries online · Responsible for co-ordinating the e-training and e-learning programmes in their respective domains |

(4) Research Associate (Crop Management) – 1 no. |
Responsible for actual execution of work under the overall guidance and supervision of the respective Technical Director. |
Eligibility: Essential qualifications
(a) Technical Directors
1. Teachers/Scientists in the Kerala Agricultural University or ICAR institutions in the State who are in the cadre of Associate Professors/Assistant Professor (Sel. Gr.) or equivalent.
2. Doctorate in the respective field.
NB: Postgraduates working in the concerned Govt. departments (Animal husbandry/ Fisheries as the case may be) with minimum eight years’ service can be considered as Domain Experts on deputation/working arrangement with pay protection.
Desirable qualifications
(a) Experience in content generation for e-learning/e-extension or database management programmes.
(b) Proficiency in computer application.
(c) Ability to plan, implement and monitor content generation and courseware and online training programmes in the respective areas.
(d) Experience in co-ordinating and managing agricultural education, research or extension programmes independently.

Knowledge in World Trade Agreement, IPR issues and trade-related
issues in Kerala’s agriculture.
(f) Ability to plan, co-ordinate and implement e-extension and e-learning programmes.

Note: In case candidates with adequate qualifications and experience are not available, candidates with lower qualifications will also be considered, with correspondingly less compensation package.
In case
persons in service are not available for the Technical Director’s positions,
retired persons within the age of 65 with the required qualifications and
experience will be considered. They
will be considered for engagement as Domain Experts on contract basis.
(a) Technical Directors/Domain Experts
1. Teachers/scientists who are in regular service in KAU/ICAR institutions are eligible for the scale of pay of Associate Professors (Rs. 12000-18300), with applicable allowances. Apart from pay protection, the selected persons will be eligible for normal increments. Internet connectivity will also be provided.
(b) Research Associate: Consolidated pay of Rs. 12,000/- + HRA. Reimbursement of actual expenses for travel in connection with the work of the Projects.
Candidates with lower experience will be paid consolidated pay of Rs. 10000/-.
Term of appointment
Contract appointment, initially for a period of one year, but extendable after review.
Mode of selection
Based on experience and capability in generation/database management for any e-learning/e-extension or similar IT-enabled programmes in agriculture. Candidates suitable for VUAT Project will be short-listed and assessed through interview based on their experience and capability.
