Back

The major extension role of the University is to provide technical support and consultative service to Government Departments engaged in agricultural development and to farmers in special cases. The extension education programmes of the University are planned, organised and conducted by the Directorate of Extension at the University level. The Communication Centre, the Central Training Institute, the KAU Press and the Information-cum-Sales Centre are the major constituent units of the Directorate. Besides these units, extension educa-tion programmes are also implemented through the research stations and educational institutions under K.A.U. The Transfer of Technology Programmes are implemented through the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) and the Village Adoption Programme. The Krishi Vigyan Kendras at Ambalavayal, Pattambi and Sadanandapuram are sponsored by the ICAR. The KVK at Manjeswaram is financed by the University.
