Different
models of integrated farming for sustainable agriculture has been evolved
for Kuttanad area. Fish cum duck farming by raising ducks in a cage constructed
over fishponds is also good giving a yield of 5.4 t/ha of fish in 302 days.
The duck droppings enhanced the pond productivity substantially. Integrated
farming of fish alongwith pig has shown that it was possible to produce 5.2
t/ha of fish apart from 4 t of pig meat, which was very economical.
