The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, financed by the ICAR became functional in 1984 primarily to cater to the needs of the tribal population in Wayanad district.
Mandate :
Extension activities in agriculture and allied fields aimed mainly at the tribal population and non-tribal farmers of Wayanad.

The KAU established KVK, Manjeshwar on 22nd October 1984 with a view to cater to the needs of the farmers residing in the multi-linguistic belt of Manjeshwar block, Kasaragod District. This area is mostly inhabited by Tulu and Kannada speaking population.
Mandate
The major objective
of the KVK, Manjeshwar is to transfer the technologies evolved in the research
stations to farmers and thereby improving their living standards. The KVK imparts
up to date knowledge to farmers, farm youths and farm women on the crop planning,
crop production techniques, animal husbandry, forestry, home science, and fish
culture etc. in order to improve their skills and under standing in scientific
farming.

The KVK, Sadanandapuram was established at the Farming Systems Research Station, Kottarakkara, Kol-lam district on 1st October 1994. This is located forty kilometers away from Kollam district headquarters and the operational area includes the whole of Kollam district.
Mandate
Dissemination of Agricultural technologies to improve production and productivity and to increase self employment by undertaking the following activities.
Organizing vocational training programmes on agr-culture and allied enterprises.
On farm testing (in farmers' fields) in crop produtiohorticulture, livestock, fisheries etc.
Front line demonstrations major cereal crops, oil seeds and pulses and other enterprises related to agriculture
In service
training of field level extension officials.

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pattambi is functioning in the Regl. Agrl. Research Station Campus, Pattambi and the operational area includes the whole of Palakkad district. The Kendra was established on 22nd Oc-tober 1979 under the Kerala Agricultural University and since November 1982, it is fully sponsored by the (ICAR)

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kumarakom is functioning in the Regl. Agrl. Research Station Campus, Kumarakom and the operational area includes the whole of Kottayam district. The Kendra was established on March 2000. This is a remandated KVKunder the NATP.
