Dr. S. L. Mehta, formerly DDG (Edn), ICAR, in a recent communication to the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University, has congratulated the University in having stood first in academic excellence during 2001.

"It has been a matter of personal happiness for me to know that the Kerala Agricultural University students stood first in All-India Competitive Examinations. Kindly accept my heartiest congratulations for this spectacular achievement. The Deans and the Faculty deserve our deep appreciation for their untiring efforts. The fact that the KAU performance over last three years has improved substantially from a position of 5th rank to 2nd in year before last and to first in this year is a matter of joy for all. I am confident that with your continued support, students of KAU will continue to excel.
