Activities of Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign
The Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations was initiated with cleaning of KVK campus, with the participation of KVK Staff and SHG members. Field sanitation was carried out by removal of plastic wastes, damaged poly bags and mulch sheets. Removal of weed plants around KVK premises was also carried out. Distribution of seeds, seedlings and planting of fruit trees were conducted on 2nd October 2020.
On 1st October 2020 an online webinar on Gandhian Philosophy in Agriculture was conducted. The talk was delivered by a Gandhian cum Agriculturist and politician Sri. K.A Chandran, (Ex. MLA) Kollengode Constituency. He stressed the importance of Gandhian philosophy in agriculture and importance of practicing and adopting Gandhian Philosophies in our life. Dr. Suman K.T, Programme Co-ordinator, KVK, Thrissur also addressed participants and stressed the importance of Gandhian principles. Smt. Arathy Balakrishnan, Assistant Professor, KVK, Thrissur spoke on the occasion. Awareness sessions on Gandhian Philosophy in Agriculture were also carried out in all the training programmes conducted during these days. An online training program was also organised for promoting entrepreneurship development in Agriculture through Mushroom cultivation by Dr. Deepa James, Assistant Professor , KVK, Thrissur.
