• The fertiliser requirement of major pulse crops was standardised as N @ 30 kg/ha and P @ 40 kg/ha. This dose gives the maximum yield in cowpea.

• In the case of horsegram and soybean P does not have any significant response.

• The best time for sowing pulse crops like cowpea, greengram, blackgram and redgram was found to be 2nd half of June.

• Cropping system research with pulses indicated that pulses could fit well as an intercrop in coconut, banana and tapioca
