The ICAR sponsored project on Technology Assessment and Refinement through Institution Village Linkage (IVLP) started functioning at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pattambi in 1995. The major activity of the project is the assessment and refinement of technologies and production systems developed by the Kerala Agricultural University in the agro-eco-region of Pattambi in the Palakkad District. Various diversified agri-horti and livestock production technologies are tested in farmers' fields for assessing stability, suitability, sustainability and productivity. The project is underway in two adjacement desoms - Ezhuvanthala and Pattissery of Nellaya Panchayath of Palakkad District. Emphasis is given on family based, multi-disciplinary, multiple intervention modules and multiple options. The crucial stage of entire programme is initiated and run in most participatory way. v. Communication Centre The major activity of the Communication Centre is to provide information support to the extension personnel of the State Development Departments, Voluntary Agencies, Co-operative Societies, Farmers etc. on agricultural technologies through a variety of media. The three sub-units viz., Publication Unit, Information Unit and Exhibition and Graphic Service Unit together perform the function of information communication.
