KAU emerges as over-all champion
The third All India Inter-state Agricultural University Youth Festival sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research was hosted by the Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur from January 21-25, 2002. Tweleve Agricultural Universities participated in the megafestival, holding high the spirit of national integration.
The Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Thrissur, which hosted the third Inter- state Agricultral University Youth Festival (AGRIUNIFEST - 2001) won the rolling trophy for the over-all championship, securing 66 points. The Assam Agricultural University (AAU) and the Chaudhari Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), emerged as the second and third taking 63 and 45 points respectively. There were 18 items of competition in the festival. The beautiful main campus of KAU at Vellanikkara, Thrissur was the venue of the festival which extended for five days from January 21-25, 2002. Twelve State Agricultural Universities participated in the festival.
This was the third All India Inter-state Agricultural University Youth festival which was sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The first youth festival of this kind was conducted at the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) Dharwad during the year 1999. This was followed by the AGRIUNIFEST at the Assam Agricultural University (AAU) Jhorhat, last year. The underlying spirit of the AGRIUNIFEST is national integration.
